- I saw her 3 times in the last 2 weeks: (1)coffee/drink date, (2) my show and (3) museum date.
Every attempt to kiss her, either during or at the end of the date, was rebuffed with "not yet." I did try to connect with her via hugs and mild touching, so that each attempt to get closer wasn't out of context... I am not an expert on social cues, but she seem to like me and I like her too, but this bothers me a lot, as I am not planning to wait until marriage to get close with her.
I'm talking about when Caucasian men develop an acute sexual preference for East Asian women – even becoming a fetish, for some.
In fact, the most recent figures from 2.4 million users of Facebook dating apps showed a clear skew in preference for women of East Asian descent by men of all racial groups, except, ironically, Asian men.
In fact, I moonlight as a rather well-connected man-about-town in the expat community here (or rather, I was doing so earlier this year… Chase woke up one day in 2004 tired of being alone.

Traditions and cultures will be different for both people.
Having been in Beijing more or less since July of 2010 (with frequent travel to other locales, of course), I've gotten pretty acquainted with the dating scene here in China.
I've been with a good number of girls, have had a few girlfriends, and – as I like to dabble in all things – have been sporadically active in the different expat communities in Beijing.
Overall, Americans are very very cautious on the dating scene.
It can sometimes take a long time for a romantic relationship to develop into an official boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. There are all kinds of different stages of relationships that foreigners need to be aware of, and some of them will always seem kind of ridiculous (like the open-relationship stuff, I am just never able to get it).
